BOX, George E.P. & Gwilym M. Jenkins. Some statistical aspects of adaptive optimization and control.
London: Royal Statistical Society, 1962. First edition.

A fine copy of the issue of 'Journal of the Royal Statistical Society' containing Box and Jenkins' breakthrough paper in which they first proposed their fundamental time series methodology. "This paper surely ranks among the most important statistics papers in modern era. It represents the first in a series of collaborations between Box and Jenkins that came to full fruitation in 1970 with the publication of the now classic text (Time Series Analysis: Forecasting and Control) on time domain parametric time series models including autoregressive, moving average, and mixed models. Preliminary discussions of these models appear in this paper. In addition, a description of 'technical feedback' is given that anticipates modern exploratory data analysis. The treatment of nonstationarity using difference operators is also noted, as well as the suggestion of modern so-called high-resolution spectral analysis." (Kotz & Johnson: Breakthroughs in Statistics).

An almost mint issue of Journal of the Royal Statistical Society in original printed wrappers, volume 24, No. 2. The Box-Jenkins paper is pp. 297-343. Rare in such condition.
